1 Corinthians 1
| Now I beseech you,
brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that ye all speak the same thing, and that there
be no divisions among you; but that ye be
perfectly joined together in the same mind and
in the same judgment. |
| For Christ sent me not to
baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with
wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should
be made of none effect. |
| For the preaching of the
cross is to them that perish foolishness; but
unto us which are saved it is the power of God. |
| For it is written, I will
destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring
to nothing the understanding of the prudent. |
| Where is the wise? where is
the scribe? where is the disputer of this world?
hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this
world? |
| For after that in the
wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God,
it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching
to save them that believe. |
| For the Jews require a
sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: |
| But we preach Christ
crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and
unto the Greeks foolishness; |
| But unto them which are
called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power
of God, and the wisdom of God. |
| Because the foolishness of
God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God
is stronger than men. |
| For ye see your calling,
brethren, how that not many wise men after the
flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are
called: |
| But God hath chosen the
foolish things of the world to confound the
wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the
world to confound the things which are mighty; |

John 17
| I have given them thy
word; and the world hath hated them, because
they are not of the world, even as I am not of
the world. |
| I pray not that thou
shouldest take them out of the world, but that
thou shouldest keep them from the evil. |
| They are not of the world,
even as I am not of the world. |
| Sanctify them through thy
truth: thy word is truth. |
| As thou hast sent me into
the world, even so have I also sent them into
the world. |
| And for their sakes I
sanctify myself, that they also might be
sanctified through the truth. |
| Neither pray I for these
alone, but for them also which shall believe on
me through their word; |
| That they all may be one;
as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that
they also may be one in us: that the world may
believe that thou hast sent me. |
| And the glory which thou
gavest me I have given them; that they may be
one, even as we are one: |
| I in them, and thou in me,
that they may be made perfect in one; and that
the world may know that thou hast sent me, and
hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. |
| Father, I will that they
also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where
I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou
hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the
foundation of the world. |

Matthew 13
| Another parable put he
forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven
is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in
his field: |
| But while men slept, his
enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and
went his way. |
| But when the blade was
sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then
appeared the tares also. |
| So the servants of the
householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst
not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence
then hath it tares? |
| He said unto them, An
enemy hath done this. The servants said unto
him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them
up? |
| But he said, Nay; lest
while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also
the wheat with them. |
| Let both grow together
until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I
will say to the reapers, Gather ye together
first the tares, and bind them in bundles to
burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. |

Zephaniah 1
| Hold thy peace at the
presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the
LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a
sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. |
| And it shall come to pass
in the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, that I will
punish the princes, and the king's children, and
all such as are clothed with strange apparel. |
