1 Kings 11
| And Jeroboam the son of
Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's
servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow
woman, even he lifted up his hand against the
king. |
| And this was the cause that
he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon
built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the
city of David his father. |
| And the man Jeroboam was a
mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the
young man that he was industrious, he made him
ruler over all the charge of the house of
Joseph. |
| And it came to pass at that
time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that
the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in
the way; and he had clad himself with a new
garment; and they two were alone in the field: |
| And Ahijah caught the new
garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve
pieces: |
| And he said to Jeroboam,
Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD,
the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the
kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will
give ten tribes to thee: |
| (But he shall have one
tribe for my servant David's sake, and for
Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen
out of all the tribes of Israel:) |
| Because that they have
forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the
goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the
Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of
Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do
that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my
statutes and my judgments, as did David his
father. |

Genesis 19
| And Lot went up out of Zoar,
and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters
with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he
dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. |
| And the firstborn said unto
the younger, Our father is old, and there is not
a man in the earth to come in unto us after the
manner of all the earth: |
| Come, let us make our
father drink wine, and we will lie with him,
that we may preserve seed of our father. |
| And they made their father
drink wine that night: and the firstborn went
in, and lay with her father; and he perceived
not when she lay down, nor when she arose. |
| And it came to pass on the
morrow, that the firstborn said unto the
younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my
father: let us make him drink wine this night
also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we
may preserve seed of our father. |
| And they made their father
drink wine that night also: and the younger
arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not
when she lay down, nor when she arose. |
| Thus were both the
daughters of Lot with child by their father. |
| And the firstborn bare a
son, and called his name Moab: the same is the
father of the Moabites unto this day. |
| And the younger, she also
bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the
same is the father of the children of Ammon unto
this day. |

Genesis 20
| And Abraham journeyed from
thence toward the south country, and dwelled
between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. |
| And Abraham said of Sarah
his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king
of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. |
| But God came to Abimelech
in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold,
thou art but a dead man, for the woman which
thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife. |
Genesis 20:1-3 |
Genesis 21
| And the LORD visited Sarah
as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as
he had spoken. |
| For Sarah conceived, and
bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set
time of which God had spoken to him. |
| And Abraham called the name
of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah
bare to him, Isaac. |
| And Abraham circumcised his
son Isaac being eight days old, as God had
commanded him. |
