John 14
| Hereafter I will not talk
much with you: for the prince of this world
cometh, and hath nothing in me. |
| But that the world may know
that I love the Father; and as the Father gave
me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go
hence. |
John 14:30-31 |
John 3
| There was a man of the
Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: |
| The same came to Jesus by
night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that
thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can
do these miracles that thou doest, except God be
with him. |
| Jesus answered and said
unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the
kingdom of God. |
| Nicodemus saith unto him,
How can a man be born when he is old? can he
enter the second time into his mother's womb,
and be born? |
| Jesus answered, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of
water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into
the kingdom of God. |
| That which is born of the
flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. |
| Marvel not that I said unto
thee, Ye must be born again. |
| The wind bloweth where it
listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but
canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it
goeth: so is every one that is born of the
Spirit. |
| Nicodemus answered and said
unto him, How can these things be? |
| Jesus answered and said
unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and
knowest not these things? |
| Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that
we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. |
| If I have told you earthly
things, and ye believe not, how shall ye
believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? |
| And no man hath ascended up
to heaven, but he that came down from heaven,
even the Son of man which is in heaven. |
| And as Moses lifted up the
serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son
of man be lifted up: |
| That whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have eternal life. |
| For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. |
| For God sent not his Son
into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved. |
| He that believeth on him is
not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son of God. |
John 3:1-18 |
John 3
| And this is the
condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil. |
| For every one that doeth
evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved. |
| But he that doeth truth
cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made
manifest, that they are wrought in God. |
| After these things came
Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea;
and there he tarried with them, and baptized. |
| And John also was baptizing
in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much
water there: and they came, and were baptized. |
| For John was not yet cast
into prison. |
| Then there arose a question
between some of John's disciples and the Jews
about purifying. |
| And they came unto John,
and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee
beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness,
behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to
him. |
| John answered and said, A
man can receive nothing, except it be given him
from heaven. |
| Ye yourselves bear me
witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but
that I am sent before him. |
| He that hath the bride is
the bridegroom: but the friend of the
bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him,
rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's
voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. |
| He must increase, but I
must decrease. |
| He that cometh from above
is above all: he that is of the earth is
earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that
cometh from heaven is above all. |
| And what he hath seen and
heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth
his testimony. |
| He that hath received his
testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. |
| For he whom God hath sent
speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not
the Spirit by measure unto him. |
| The Father loveth the Son,
and hath given all things into his hand. |
| He that believeth on the
Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth
not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of
God abideth on him. |
John 3:19-36 |
Matthew 4
| Then was Jesus led up of
the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of
the devil. |
| And when he had fasted
forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an
hungered. |
| And when the tempter came
to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God,
command that these stones be made bread. |
| But he answered and said,
It is written, Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of
the mouth of God. |
| Then the devil taketh him
up into the holy city, and setteth him on a
pinnacle of the temple, |
| And saith unto him, If thou
be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is
written, He shall give his angels charge
concerning thee: and in their hands they shall
bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy
foot against a stone. |
| Jesus said unto him, It is
written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy
God. |
| Again, the devil taketh him
up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth
him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory
of them; |
| And saith unto him, All
these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall
down and worship me. |
| Then saith Jesus unto him,
Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou
shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only
shalt thou serve. |
| Then the devil leaveth him,
and, behold, angels came and ministered unto
him. |
Matthew 4:1-11 |
John 12
| And there were certain
Greeks among them that came up to worship at the
feast: |
| The same came therefore to
Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and
desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. |
| Philip cometh and telleth
Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. |
| And Jesus answered them,
saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man
should be glorified. |
| Verily, verily, I say unto
you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground
and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it
bringeth forth much fruit. |
| He that loveth his life
shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in
this world shall keep it unto life eternal. |
| If any man serve me, let
him follow me; and where I am, there shall also
my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my
Father honour. |
| Now is my soul troubled;
and what shall I say? Father, save me from this
hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. |
| Father, glorify thy name.
Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I
have both glorified it, and will glorify it
again. |
| The people therefore, that
stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered:
others said, An angel spake to him. |
| Jesus answered and said,
This voice came not because of me, but for your
sakes. |
| Now is the judgment of this
world: now shall the prince of this world be
cast out. |
| And I, if I be lifted up
from the earth, will draw all men unto me. |
| This he said, signifying
what death he should die. |
| The people answered him, We
have heard out of the law that Christ abideth
for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man
must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? |
John 12:20-34 |
John 16
| Nevertheless I tell you the
truth; It is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him
unto you. |
| And when he is come, he
will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment: |
| Of sin, because they
believe not on me; |
| Of righteousness, because I
go to my Father, and ye see me no more; |
| Of judgment, because the
prince of this world is judged. |
| I have yet many things to
say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. |
| Howbeit when he, the Spirit
of truth, is come, he will guide you into all
truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will show you things to come. |
| He shall glorify me: for he
shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto
you. |
| All things that the Father
hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall
take of mine, and shall show it unto you. |
| A little while, and ye
shall not see me: and again, a little while, and
ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. |
| Then said some of his
disciples among themselves, What is this that he
saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not
see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall
see me: and, Because I go to the Father? |
| They said therefore, What
is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot
tell what he saith. |
| Now Jesus knew that they
were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do
ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A
little while, and ye shall not see me: and
again, a little while, and ye shall see me? |
| Verily, verily, I say unto
you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the
world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful,
but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. |
| A woman when she is in
travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come:
but as soon as she is delivered of the child,
she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy
that a man is born into the world. |
| And ye now therefore have
sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart
shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from
you. |
| And in that day ye shall
ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name,
he will give it you. |
| Hitherto have ye asked
nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive,
that your joy may be full. |
John 16:7-24 |
