Genesis 1
| In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth. |
| And the earth was without
form, and void; and darkness was upon the face
of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon
the face of the waters. |
| And God said, Let there be
light: and there was light. |
| And God saw the light, that
it was good: and God divided the light from the
darkness. |
| And God called the light
Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the
evening and the morning were the first day. |
| And God said, Let there be
a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let
it divide the waters from the waters. |
| And God made the firmament,
and divided the waters which were under the
firmament from the waters which were above the
firmament: and it was so. |
| And God called the
firmament Heaven. And the evening and the
morning were the second day. |
| And God said, Let the
waters under the heaven be gathered together
unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and
it was so. |
| And God called the dry land
Earth; and the gathering together of the waters
called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. |
| And God said, Let the earth
bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and
the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind,
whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it
was so. |
| And the earth brought forth
grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in
itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was
good. |
| And the evening and the
morning were the third day. |
| And God said, Let there be
lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide
the day from the night; and let them be for
signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: |
| And let them be for lights
in the firmament of the heaven to give light
upon the earth: and it was so. |
| And God made two great
lights; the greater light to rule the day, and
the lesser light to rule the night: he made the
stars also. |
| And God set them in the
firmament of the heaven to give light upon the
earth, |
| And to rule over the day
and over the night, and to divide the light from
the darkness: and God saw that it was good. |
| And the evening and the
morning were the fourth day. |
Genesis 1:1-19 |
2 Peter 3
| But, beloved, be not
ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with
the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand
years as one day. |
2 Peter 3:8 |
Genesis 16
| Now Sarai Abram's wife bare
him no children: and she had an handmaid, an
Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. |
| And Sarai said unto Abram,
Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from
bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may
be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram
hearkened to the voice of Sarai. |
| And Sarai Abram's wife took
Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had
dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave
her to her husband Abram to be his wife. |
| And he went in unto Hagar,
and she conceived: and when she saw that she had
conceived, her mistress was despised in her
eyes. |
| And Sarai said unto Abram,
My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into
thy bosom; and when she saw that she had
conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD
judge between me and thee. |
| But Abram said unto Sarai,
Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it
pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with
her, she fled from her face. |
| And the angel of the LORD
found her by a fountain of water in the
wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. |
| And he said, Hagar, Sarai's
maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou
go? And she said, I flee from the face of my
mistress Sarai. |
| And the angel of the LORD
said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and
submit thyself under her hands. |
| And the angel of the LORD
said unto her, I will multiply thy seed
exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for
multitude. |
| And the angel of the LORD
said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and
shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name
Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy
affliction. |
| And he will be a wild man;
his hand will be against every man, and every
man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in
the presence of all his brethren. |
| And she called the name of
the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me:
for she said, Have I also here looked after him
that seeth me? |
| Wherefore the well was
called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between
Kadesh and Bered. |
| And Hagar bare Abram a son:
and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar
bare, Ishmael. |
| And Abram was fourscore and
six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram. |
Genesis 16 |
I Samuel 15
| Samuel also said unto Saul,
The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over
his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken
thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD. |
| Thus saith the LORD of
hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to
Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way,
when he came up from Egypt. |
| Now go and smite Amalek,
and utterly destroy all that they have, and
spare them not; but slay both man and woman,
infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and
ass. |
| And Saul gathered the
people together, and numbered them in Telaim,
two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand
men of Judah. |
| And Saul came to a city of
Amalek, and laid wait in the valley. |
| And Saul said unto the
Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the
Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye
showed kindness to all the children of Israel,
when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites
departed from among the Amalekites. |
| And Saul smote the
Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to
Shur, that is over against Egypt. |
| And he took Agag the king
of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed
all the people with the edge of the sword. |
| But Saul and the people
spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of
the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs,
and all that was good, and would not utterly
destroy them: but every thing that was vile and
refuse, that they destroyed utterly. |
| Then came the word of the
LORD unto Samuel, saying, |
| It repenteth me that I have
set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back
from following me, and hath not performed my
commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he
cried unto the LORD all night. |
| And when Samuel rose early
to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel,
saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set
him up a place, and is gone about, and passed
on, and gone down to Gilgal. |
| And Samuel came to Saul:
and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the
LORD: I have performed the commandment of the
LORD. |
| And Samuel said, What
meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine
ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? |
| And Saul said, They have
brought them from the Amalekites: for the people
spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to
sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we
have utterly destroyed. |
| Then Samuel said unto Saul,
Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath
said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say
on. |
| And Samuel said, When thou
wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not
made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the
LORD anointed thee king over Israel? |
| And the LORD sent thee on a
journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the
sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them
until they be consumed. |
1 Samuel 15:1-18 |

Genesis 1
| And God said, Let the
waters bring forth abundantly the moving
creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly
above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. |
| And God created great
whales, and every living creature that moveth,
which the waters brought forth abundantly, after
their kind, and every winged fowl after his
kind: and God saw that it was good. |
| And God blessed them,
saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the
waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the
earth. |
| And the evening and the
morning were the fifth day. |
| And God said, Let the earth
bring forth the living creature after his kind,
cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the
earth after his kind: and it was so. |
| And God made the beast of
the earth after his kind, and cattle after their
kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the
earth after his kind: and God saw that it was
good. |
| And God said, Let us make
man in our image, after our likeness: and let
them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping
thing that creepeth upon the earth. |
| So God created man in his
own image, in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them. |
| And God blessed them, and
God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over every living thing
that moveth upon the earth. |
| And God said, Behold, I
have given you every herb bearing seed, which is
upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,
in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding
seed; to you it shall be for meat. |
| And to every beast of the
earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to
every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
wherein there is life, I have given every green
herb for meat: and it was so. |
| And God saw every thing
that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth
day. |
Genesis 1:20-31 |
Zechariah 9
| Rejoice greatly, O daughter
of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold,
thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and
having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass,
and upon a colt the foal of an ass. |
Zechariah 9:9 |
Matthew 21
| And when they drew nigh
unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto
the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two
disciples, |
| Saying unto them, Go into
the village over against you, and straightway ye
shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her:
loose them, and bring them unto me. |
| And if any man say ought
unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of
them; and straightway he will send them. |
| All this was done, that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken by the
prophet, saying, |
| Tell ye the daughter of
Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek,
and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of
an ass. |
| And the disciples went, and
did as Jesus commanded them, |
| And brought the ass, and
the colt, and put on them their clothes, and
they set him thereon. |
Matthew 21:1-7 |
I Samuel 15
| Wherefore then didst thou
not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly
upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of
the LORD? |
| And Saul said unto Samuel,
Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and
have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and
have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have
utterly destroyed the Amalekites. |
| But the people took of the
spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things
which should have been utterly destroyed, to
sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. |
| And Samuel said, Hath the
LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and
sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to
hearken than the fat of rams. |
| For rebellion is as the sin
of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity
and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the
word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee
from being king. |
| And Saul said unto Samuel,
I have sinned: for I have transgressed the
commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because
I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. |
| Now therefore, I pray thee,
pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I
may worship the LORD. |
| And Samuel said unto Saul,
I will not return with thee: for thou hast
rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath
rejected thee from being king over Israel. |
| And as Samuel turned about
to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his
mantle, and it rent. |
| And Samuel said unto him,
The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from
thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour
of thine, that is better than thou. |
| And also the Strength of
Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a
man, that he should repent. |
| Then he said, I have
sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before
the elders of my people, and before Israel, and
turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD
thy God. |
| So Samuel turned again
after Saul; and Saul worshipped the LORD. |
| Then said Samuel, Bring ye
hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites.
And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag
said, Surely the bitterness of death is past. |
| And Samuel said, As thy
sword hath made women childless, so shall thy
mother be childless among women. And Samuel
hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal. |
| Then Samuel went to Ramah;
and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul. |
| And Samuel came no more to
see Saul until the day of his death:
nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the
LORD repented that he had made Saul king over
Israel. |
